Methodology, data & limitations
Trend reads come from rules applied to publicly available price candles; summaries, notes, the geopolitical briefing and the economic calendar are generated by an AI language model. Everything is a snapshot taken when an analysis is refreshed, and may be wrong, delayed or out of date.
What data sources are used?
- Price candles — hourly, daily and weekly OHLC data from a free public market-data feed (Yahoo Finance chart data). It can be delayed, incomplete or occasionally unavailable, and is not an exchange-grade or broker feed.
- AI-generated content — intermarket overview, sentiment score, geopolitical briefing, economic calendar entries, support/resistance commentary and notes are produced by a large language model. They are not sourced from an official calendar or news wire and can contain errors.
- Your account data — optional MyFxBook sync on the risk page, shown only to you.
Which timeframes are analysed?
Each instrument gets an hourly, daily and weekly trend (up, down or sideways) using moving-average position and slope rules, plus a daily slow stochastic (14,3,3) momentum reading. A rule-based BUY or SELL can come from either of two paths:
- Trend path — weekly and daily trends agree (both up or both down) and the hourly chart confirms in the same direction.
- Momentum trigger — hourly and daily trends agree and the hourly stochastic breaks up through 20 (BUY) or down through 80 (SELL). When it fires, this trigger takes precedence over the trend path's result, even if the weekly trend differs.
If neither path fires — weekly/daily disagree, weekly is sideways, the hourly hasn't confirmed, or there isn't enough price history — the computed action is WAIT. HOLD can appear when an instrument has no price-data coverage and the AI-generated read is kept instead.
What does "Generated" mean versus the last market data?
"Generated" is when the analysis was run. The candles it used end at the latest bar the data feed provided at that moment, which may be earlier (for example over weekends or market closures). Analyses do not update on their own; they change only when a signed-in user refreshes. The public homepage hides all BUY/SELL symbols from any analysis older than 24 hours.
What are the limitations and risks?
- No call is a prediction or guarantee; there is no verified track record or accuracy claim.
- Rules can lag turning points and generate false signals in choppy markets.
- AI output can be confidently wrong, including invented events or figures. Verify calendar items with an official source such as the relevant central bank or statistics agency.
- Prices shown may differ from your broker's quotes, spreads and execution.
- Leveraged products (CFDs, forex, futures) carry a high risk of rapid loss. Only risk what you can afford to lose.
